STARTER

In case you got here without reading the first part you can go there and choose the tab that best describes you, then come here.

I bet you like doing fun things with your horse,
even if you're a somewhat serious, detail oriented rider like me.

If you've seen other riders doing working equitation and are thinking "it looks like they're having a blast".

You're right, they are!

In addition to having fun, I bet you'd also like to improve your horse's skills.
I can tell because you're here on the internet seeing what's available.

Boo and I at Halloween. Witch and Cat

But maybe one of these sounds more like you...

You're bored with going in circles and you're not sure what else to do when you get to the arena.

It's hard to tell if you're making progress or even worse, you know you aren't.

Your horse is not suitable for the discipline you do now. It's breaking your heart to think of selling him.

You'd like more variety and maybe a challenge but you're not sure how to get your horse to do what you want.

These are all things you can work on with Working Equitation.

But first you need to learn what Working Equitation is, so you can teach your horse.

The problem is it's hard to find information that's complete, and easy to understand.

Until now!

When I was looking to learn, I noticed most videos on Youtube show speed runs.

You may not know yet that Working Equitation actually has four phases.
Three are mandatory, but only in competition.

Two are based on precision and help you to develop your horse physically and mentally.
I tell you about all of them in the free What The Heck is Working Equitation video (see below).

You don't need to compete to benefit, unless you want to.

Practicing the skills and obstacles of Working Equitation is all you need to increase your fun and improve your horse's skills.

You may be unsure of what obstacles are included in Working Equitation. They are based on real obstacles a working horse may encounter in the field. These are not the type intended to scare your horse.

Some of them are worked differently than in other obstacle sports. But as you practice more precision you'll help your horse to become more balanced. A balanced horse stays sounder, longer, and becomes more athletic so they can do the obstacles and other fun activities better.

I tell you all about them in the free Introduction to Working Equitation Obstacles video (see below).

I know it can feel intimidating and lonely to start a new discipline, especially if others in your barn are focused on their discipline.

That's part of the reason why I created online courses and communities for riders wanting to learn about Working Equitation.

And it's not all about the obstacles, but how your horse travels through the obstacles so I identified the 3 keys that make up the Secret to Making Your Obstacles Flow (see below). When you sign up for that you will also receive a oouple of free lessons by email on flexion, bend and tempo. Whether you do Working Equitation or not you will find these lessons valuable in helping your horse to travel more correctly so they are able to do what you ask.

One problem you may be worried about is not having obstacles to practice on.
Do It Yourself Working Equitation (see below), was designed with you in mind. Simple stations are made from items commonly found in arenas.

Each station lets you practice multiple obstacles by following the included aerial diagrams and videos.

Limited space or equipment are needed and it's easy to set up your phone/camera to film yourself and compare it to the errors shown in the videos.

It's also included for Free with the WE Mastery For The Rest Of Us program.

I believe that learning Working Equitation can benefit all horses. And I want to make sure that no matter where you live, you can get access to the tools you need.

In Working Equitation Mastery For The Rest Of Us (see below), my step by step method will make sure you not only know HOW to ask your horse, but also WHY, which makes it easier to choose the right tool when your horse needs help. Whether your goal is to have fun, improve your horse's skills, or start showing.

The lessons don't assume any prior knowledge other than the ability to safely walk, stop and turn your horse. They include all the steps you need both to start your horse in WE and improve their skills through the levels.

Working Equitation will give you lots of variety, so you and you're horse don't get bored.

My courses will help you make a plan and measure your horse's progress so you'll know what you need to work on when you get to the arena.

You'll be able to enjoy this discipline with the horse you have now, and your horse will enjoy it with you.
